A Social Star!
I've been on Flickr for years. I use it to showcase photographs I've taken that I'm pleased with and proud enough to share socially. I also upload digital photos I have taken of my various old film cameras. These photos get "liked" by lots of people because photographers love gear photos. Especially old classic film cameras.
Flickr has a feature called "Explore" where, I assume, moderators select the best photos from all across Flickr and curate them there. I've had a few of my analog photos featured there and it's always gratifying. We like to be liked.
This past week, I had one of my digital gear shots featured on Explore and I find it amusing. I just got back my chrome Pentax Spotmatic SP from a CLA with Eric Hendrickson. For fun, I placed it on the white cutting board on my kitchen counter and took an iPhone photo of it. I uploaded it to Flickr before retiring and the next morning, my email box was full of Flickr emails. Over 4,700 viewers and 60 faves!
Seems there are a lot of people out there who love the Spotmatic as much as I do!
